On the organisation templates page all base templates can be managed. All templates are listed by name.
Explanation mark after the template name indicates that the template has been edited. No explanation mark indicates that the standard Logwise template is in use.
To view or edit a template click its name to open it. Update the content as necessary and click save when done.
Tokens are placeholders that will be replaced with dynamic data from the service, tokens use curly braces with some wording in between e.g. “{RecipientName}”. The tokens will be replaced with actual data when sending the message. To view what tokens are available for a template open the “Message tokens” section. Hover the tokens to get a description and example data.
If the template supports attachments they can be uploaded by dragging a file to the attachments box or clicking it for a file prompt.
To access additional template functions click the three dotted menu in the top right corner.
Send test mail with test data - option to send an email with tokens replaced with test data to an email address.
Send test mail - option to send an email with tokens intact to an email address.
Make a copy - make a copy of the current template.
Reset to default - reset the template to the standard default template.
Remove - only available for copied templates which can be removed
Some templates have paragraph support which are template variants that are used in certain situations in the service. Paragraphs can be updated in their respective text box and are then inserted in the main message by using the token syntax.
The paragraph variants of the template is used in certain situations e.g. when an insider is marked to keep a sublist in the service and the {USEDELEGATEDLIST} paragraph will be inserted in the message. It is also possible to define an entire custom message in this situation, this is called a paragraph override in the service. If it is supported for a template there will be a dropdown with the available options, select a paragraph and update the message as necessary.
The selected paragraph will be inserted in the message and no other paragraphs will be available in this template. The template can be edited as a normal template and will be used instead of the main template in the specific situation, in this example when an insider is marked to keep a sublist.
Paragraph overrides are displayed to the right on the same row as the main template.
Project specific variations of templates are supported in several places in the service e.g. list management. This allows for creating project specific templates that can include project specific information without affecting the base template or other projects. Most of the functionality is the same as for base templates.
To manage project specific templates for lists then go to the project menu > Templates.
When managing project specific templates a blue information box is displayed at the top with information that any edits are only available for the current project.
